Phumula Kruger Lodge & Safaris makes no apologies for the fact that they are family orientated. It is an integral part of their history and they are passionate about creating an environment where their guests can enjoy bush holidays that are defined by quality time with family and friends of all ages.
Today the lodge is managed and run by sisters Johanna and Maria. Their love of Phumula Kruger Lodge and the hospitality industry runs deep. Their father originally built the lodge in 1996 in partnership with someone else. It was a favourite destination from the start and in 1998 the lodge acquired its liquor licence to cater for the needs of their growing client base which already included local and visiting guests.
In 2006 upgrades and expansion became necessary to accommodate the thriving lodge and to meet the demand for accommodation. 4 Rooms were added at that stage and more recently, the pool was relocated in 2016 to accommodate a bigger, more private, leisure and entertainment area.
Today, Maria and Johanna proudly continue their family legacy, as they passionately continue to welcome guests into a space that has become a home-from-home for so many returning visitors. In fact, they are so committed to providing families with quality and service, that the lodge only closes on one day of the year – Christmas day. This is just one of the many things that sets Phumula Kruger Lodge apart from other local establishments.
In addition to this, the location and design of the chalets lend themselves to an atmosphere of individual private bush retreats, as opposed to rooms in a lodging house. Each chalet and twin room have Wi-fi and their own phones with internal and external extensions (external calls are naturally billed at local rates). The restaurant is another attractive feature that sets Phumula Kruger Lodge apart, as it affords guests the convenience of delicious, reasonably priced meals(Hyperlink to restaurant menu/ page)without any further travelling.
Phumula Kruger Lodge & Safaris has welcomed local and international guests into the heart of their family for going on 20 years, and it is a powerful testimony that so many guests have returned the favour. If you are planning a trip to Marloth Park, or Kruger National Park and its surrounding areas, why not see for yourself why it is the destination of choice for so many travelers year after year? We look forward to meeting you.
